Welcome to Ivy Bee ReHand, an imaginative artist studio located in mid-town Santa Fe, New Mexico. I focus on transforming recycled materials and found objects into creations that inspire
joy and laughter.
As a passionate spinner, dyer, weaver, and tapestry artist, all my creations have a foundation in traditional fiber arts. But these days, my work is constructed (in part or in full) from materials that might otherwise go to the landfill... or be flung into an arroyo... or get shipped to a foreign country for disposal or distribution. All it takes to disrupt these wasteful outcomes is to look at material objects with an unbiased eye. It is my pleasure and my purpose to do just that. In everything I make, I celebrate the art of renewal.

In a mid-town Santa Fe neighborhood, there's a dead tree enjoying a bigtime renewal. An ivy plant has decided to throw a party, climbing high and inviting all the local birds and creatures to join in. Rather than getting the axe, this old tree has turned into a nature hotspot, proving that even a “has-been” can enjoy a new chapter. It’s all about repurposing, folks – because who knew dead trees could be the life of the party?

The favorite guest at the ivy plant's party? The bees, of course. They zoom among the leaves and summertime blooms, bringing life and energy to the yard. Their diligent work transforms the offered pollen into the sweet delight of honey. The ivy bees remind us every day of the joyful effort involved in artful transformation.

RENEW, people, renew! Recycle. Reuse. Repurpose. Repair. Reconstitute. Reclaim. Revive. Regenerate. Re... well, you get the idea.

Anna is a long-time resident of Santa Fe (New Mexico) and discovered the joy of making during her university years. She's been creating ever since. Anna works in a variety of media, including ceramics, textiles, natural dyes, found objects and leather. If she's not spending time with her family or enjoying the music, art and community life of her hometown, she's in the studio... MAKING!
